Georgia Highlands College baseball dropped a pair of games Saturday to visiting Sinclair CC, 3-1 and 11-1 as the visiting Tartan Pride, preseason ranked No. 8 in the country, completed a series three-game sweep.
Three Sinclair CC pitchers limited the Chargers to only four hits in the first game of the twinbill Saturday to spoil a solid, six inning relief pitching performance by Highlands’ Zach McCrum.
In Game 3 of the series and the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader, Sinclair (3-0) scored seven runs in the first three innings and then cruised to victory. Again, a pair of pitchers for the Tartan Pride limited the Chargers to only four hits.
Georgia Highlands (10-7) is scheduled to host Chattahoochee CC (AL) Tuesday (Mar 1, 4pm) and then Guildford Tech (NC) CC for a three game series Saturday and Sunday (Mar 5-6, 1pm/12noon, DH on Sat.)
