The Cartersville High School tennis teams took one step closer Monday to clinching the top seed in their region tournament. The Cartersville girls blanked Lafayette, while the boys won 4-1.

Both Cartersville tennis teams are 6-0 in Region 7-AAAA competition. The Lady Canes are 9-1 overall and the Canes are 7-3. They host Heritage-Catoosa Wednesday where a win clinches the top spot from the region heading into the region playoffs.
