7th-ranked Lady Tigers remain unbeaten; other local teams fall in region matches

The Adairsville Lady Tigers kept their undefeated season going Tuesday night with a 3-0 victory in Calhoun over Gordon Central, but the Cartersville, Woodland, and Cass girls' teams all suffered region or sub-region losses.
 

 

ADAIRSVILLE LADY TIGERS 3, GORDON CENTRAL 0

The 7th-ranked Lady Tigers won their eleventh straight and remained unbeaten on the season with a Region 6-AAA win Tuesday night at Gordon Central.

Kaitlyn Webster gave Adairsville a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 7th minute. Emily Collum added another Lady Tigers’ goal in the 14th minute, and Gillian Johnson closed out the scoring with a goal in the 79th minute.

Goalkeeper Hayven Isaac recorded the shutout in net.

Adairsville (11-0, 5-0 in 6-AAA) plays two more region matches this week. The Tigers play at North Murray Thursday and entertain Sonoraville Friday.


HERITAGE-CATOOSA 2, CARTERSVILLE LADY CANES 1

The Lady Canes suffered a tough Region 7-AAAA loss at Heritage-Catoosa Tuesday night in Ringgold, falling 2-1.
 

 

 
Heritage improved to 7-2 overall and 4-1 in the region with the home victory.
 

Cartersville (9-2-1, 5-1-1) plays a pair of non-region matches later this week. The Lady Canes play at Marietta Thursday and at Woodland Friday.


CREEKVIEW 4, WOODLAND LADY CATS 0

The visiting Lady Grizzlies scored goals in the 4th, 18th, and 33rd minutes to take a 3-0 halftime lead at Woodland Tuesday night on their way to a 4-0 sub-region win.

Creekview (10-3-1, 5-1 7-AAAAA-A) added a final tally at the 30:19 mark of the second half.

The Lady Cats (5-7, 2-4 in 7-AAAAA-A) host Cartersville Friday for their senior night.


RIVER RIDGE 10, CASS LADY COLONELS 0

The visiting Lady Colonels were shutout Tuesday night at River Ridge, 10-0, in both teams final regular season sub-region match.

The Lady Knights evened their season mark at 6-6 with the win and finished 3-3 in 7-AAAAA-A.

Cass (3-9-1, 0-6) finished winless in sub-region matches. The Lady Colonels play at Hiram Thursday in a non-region match.
