The Cartersville High School girls and boys track and field teams competed Monday at the opening day of the Region 7-AAAA Track and Field Championships at Southeast Whitfield High School in Dalton.
The Cartersville girls are second after three events scored on Monday behind Heritage-Catoosa. The Cartersville boys are in fifth place through four events.
The meet continues on Tuesday at Southeast.
