The Adairsville boys soccer team earned a Region 6-AAA win Friday night at Haralson County in their league opener.
William Gonzalez scored first for the Tigers, but the host Rebels answered quickly to knot the score at 1-1.
A header by William Longmore off an Emanuel Lopez corner kick enabled Adairsville to take a 2-1 lead to the intermission.
In the second half, Gonzalez put Adairsville ahead 3-1 when he found the back of the net off an assist from Tigers’ captain Joseph Pacheco.
Pacheco then scored a goal of his own with a penalty kick following a foul inside the 18-yard line on Diego Carillo.
The Rebels added a late goal in the final minutes for a 4-2 final score.
The Lady Tigers were also winners Friday night at Haralson County. The Adairsville girls blanked the Lady Rebels, 4-0, to improve to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in Region 6-AAA.
The Adairsville boys (1-3, 1-0) travel to Sonoraville Thursday for another region test at 7 p.m. The girls contest will precede the boys at 5 p.m.
