CCC's Brumlow, Faith finish well at 98th GSGA State Amateur Championship

Bill Faith shot a final round 73 Sunday and gained a little ground on fellow Cartersville Country Club member Buck Brumlow at the Georgia State Golf Association’s 2019 State Amateur Championship at Ansley Golf Club-Settindown Creek in Roswell.
 

 

 
Brumlow, who finished tied for 24th overall, shot 77 Sunday for a 9-over-par 297 total in the 72-hole championship. A rising junior at Cartersville High School, Brumlow (photo, right) has committed to play collegiately at the University of Georgia and finished the event with rounds of 76-72-72-77.
 

 

 
Faith (photo, left) finished in a tie for 36th place with a 13-over-par 301 total (75-75-78-73) at the 7,150-yard, par-72 course.

Marietta native, Kennesaw Mountain High School graduate, and current Florida State Seminole Jonathan Keppler won the 98th Georgia Amateur title with a 7-under-par 281 total with rounds of 68-66-74-73. (GSGA trophy presentation photo).
 

 

 
Runner-up Timothy Schaetzel, who played collegiately for Michigan, was three shots back at 284 (68-73-73-70). Columbus native and Georgia Southern golfer Ben Carr finished third at 2-under-par 286 (68-69-73-76).

Spencer Ball (67-73-72-75), a senior at Mercer, and Nicolas Cassidy (69-74-70-74), a sophomore player at UGA, tied for fourth with a 1-under-par total 287.
