The Cass Lady Colonels basketball team had their season come to a close Friday night with a loss in the second round of the Class 5A State Tournament at Southwest DeKalb, 72-46.
Lauryn Bell had 15 points for the Panthers. Adrieanna Brownlee scored 14 points and collected 15 rebounds. Pryia Thompson scored 14 points and grabbed a dozen rebounds while Taylor Christmas added 13 points and six boards.
Fourth-ranked Southwest DeKalb out-rebounded Cass 54-23 in the contest.
Senior Londaisha Smith led the Lady Colonels with 20 points.
Cass won its first 24 games in 2020-21 to complete an undefeated regular season. The Lady Colonels finished as runner-up in the Region 7-AAAAA tournament and after Friday night's Sweet Sixteen round loss, finished the season with a 25-2 record.
