Cartersville 56, Calhoun 0
Trevor Lawrence connected with Avery Showell twice for touchdowns and Trey Creamer scored four touchdowns on the night as the Purple Hurricanes won for the 17th straight time in a 56-0 rout at Calhoun.
Cartersville led 35-0 at halftime.
Creamer's touchdown runs were from 14, 13, and two yards out in the first half. He added a four yard score in the second half.
Trase Fezzia scored on a 37-yard screen pass from Lawrence and picked off a pass that he returned 20 yards for a touchdown.
Lawrence finished the game 21-for-32 for 348 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Creamer finished with six carries for 50 yards and the four scores. He also added three catches for 29 more yards. Showell had five grabs for 71 yards and two scores. Fezzia had two for 61 and one touchdown. Antoine Jefferson added six catches for 80 yards. Cartersville, in a dominant performance, outgained the Yellow Jackets 527-72.
Cartersville entertains Westlake next week at Weinman Stadium.
Westlake (1-1) defeated Shiloh Friday night, 29-13.
Sonoraville 28, Cass 25
Cass lost to visiting Sonoraville Friday night in a back-and-forth battle.
Sonoraville scored a touchdown in all four quarters on their way to a 28-25 win.
The visiting Phoenix led 14-3 in the second quarter on a 70-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Moore to Tristan Key and a 55-yard touchdown pass from Moore to Camron Keith, but the Colonels scored twice before the half to take a 17-14 lead to the locker room.
Colonels’ quarterback Brett Gaddy found Terry Berdin for a 13-yard touchdown pass with 5:58 remaining in the half and Derrick Maxwell ran in a score from 21 yards out. Gaddy also connected with Ian Whittington for a two-point conversion following the Maxwell run.
Sonoraville (1-1) used a power running game in the second half and went ahead on a pair of rushing touchdowns by Tristan Key. Key scored on a 33-yard run with 5:03 remaining in the third quarter and a 2-yard run with 11:47 remaining in the game that gave him three touchdowns on the night and the Phoenix a 28-17 lead. Key finished with 192 yards of total offense on the night.
Cass added a late score on a 1-yard sneak by Gaddy and a Gaddy to Berdin two-point pass with 1:15 remaining, but failed to recover the ensuing onside kick.
Cass (1-1) plays at Woodland next Friday.
Model 51, Adairsville 21
The Adairsville Tigers (0-3) lost at Model Friday night, 51-21.
Adairsville fumbled on consecutive drives to start the game and found themselves trailing 14-0 early to the Blue Devils.
In fact, the Tigers turned the ball over five times and Model did not commit a turnover. Model quarterback Kyler Eldridge scored three times in the first half, including an interception return that led Model to a 30-14 lead at halftime. He finished the night with five touchdowns and 229 total yards (124 through the air and 105 on the ground).
Roger Redd found Travon Branch with a touchdown pass that made the score 16-7, but that was as close as the Tigers would get.
The Blue Devils pushed their lead to sixteen by the intermission and added three more scores in the second half. The Tigers begin region play next week at Ringgold.

Rockmart 37, Woodland 12
Rockmart took a 24-0 lead in the first half that included a pair of scores following Woodland turnovers on their way to a home victory.
Morgan Sims and Marcus Smith both put up two touchdowns apiece in the last non-region game of the season for Rockmart (2-1), along with a quarterback keeper from Dylan Bailey.
Woodland’s Justice Carter blocked a punt picked up by Emmanuel Jones for a 40-yard, third quarter score. The Wildcats then capped a 10-play, 77-yard drive with an eight yard run by KJ Combs.
Woodland (0-2) hosts Cass next week.
