The Georgia Highlands softball Chargers (3-3) split with USC Salkehatchie Friday losing the first game 7-4 before salvaging a comeback 4-3 win in the bottom of the seventh of game two.
Rebecca Meade (2-2) took the loss in the circle in game one after allowing 7 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits, 5 walks, and 5 strikeouts. Micayla McCoy closed the game allowing no runs on two hits, one walk, and four strikeouts. Natalie Pederson (1-0) took the win in game two after the Chargers came back with the walk-off in the bottom of the seventh. Pederson closed 1.2 innings allowing zero runs on 2 hits, no walks, and three strikeouts. Offensively, Brianna Fickes led the Chargers going 3-for-6 with a single, double, homerun, and walk.
The Chargers return to action Saturday to finish a four-game series with USC Salkehatchie with game times slated for 2pm and 4pm at Stars Field.
