Woodland boys tennis team edges Kell; Lady Cats fall


The Woodland High School tennis teams split Region 7AAAAA matches Friday with the Kell Longhorns.

The Kell girls won all five lines for a 5-0 decision, but the Woodland boys won a tight match with the Longhorns that came down to the No. 2 doubles line.

Line 2 — Becky Wesley / Breanna Shook lost 6-4, 6-1

Line 1 — Bryce Van Order won 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (9-7)

Line 2 — Blake Bottegal lost 6-7, 6-7

Line 3 — Connor Gunnell won 6-3, 6-2

Line 1 — Max Costlow / Alex Banta lost 6-0, 6-2
