The Adairsville Tigers collected their second Region 6-AAA win of the season Thursday night with a 7-1 victory at Murray County.
Adairsville took a 4-0 lead through three innings and led 7-1 in the fifth on their way to a six-run win. Three Tigers’ hurlers — Noah Nation, Levi Blackwell, and Braden Powell — combined on a one-hitter with Nation picking up the pitching win. Nation allowed one run on one hit and three walks with five strikeouts in four innings of work. Blackwell tossed two shutout innings and fanned one batter without allowing a hit or a walk, while Powell closed out the final frame without a baserunner in only eight pitches.
The Tigers had eight hits in the win.
Elijah Padgett had two hits and two RBI. Powell had a double and drove in one run. Landon Ayers also doubled. B.J. Roper, Evan Henry, Wade Conduff, and Blackwell (2 RBI) had the other Adairsville base hits.
Murray County falls to 1-13 overall and 1-6 in Region 6-AAA.
Adairsville (3-10, 2-5) travels to Ringgold Friday for a 5:55 p.m. first pitch.
