SARAH FOX — Agnes Scott College (Fr., Inf., Cass HS)… had a base hit in a pinch hitting role last Wednesday during a 7-4 home win over Covenant College. She also started at shortstop Saturday and was 1-for-3 with a walk and scored two runs in a 5-2 win at Mississippi University for Women. The Scotties (4-22, 1-7 USA South Athletic Conference) travel to LaGrange Monday and host Berea College (KY) Saturday in conference doubleheaders.
SIERRAH GANI — Georgia Highlands CC (So., Inf. Cass HS)… was 3-for-7 with a sacrifice hit and two RBI as the Chargers split a doubleheader last Wednesday at South Georgia State. Georgia Highlands (16-14, 7-7 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association) plays at USC-Salkehatchie Wednesday in a non-conference doubleheader before hosting conference foes South Georgia State CC Saturday and East Georgia State CC Sunday.
SYDNEY HODORFF — LaGrange College (Sr., Inf., Woodland HS)… was 3-for-8 with a double, one RBI, and four walks across four Panthers’ losses last week. LaGrange lost doubleheaders at home with Huntingdon and Maryville (TN). The Panthers (6-10, 2-6 USA South Athletic Conference) host Agnes Scott Monday and make the trip to Brevard College (NC) Saturday and Greensboro College Sunday.
PARIS POSTON — Columbus State University (Fr., OF, Cartersville HS)… went 3-for-10 last week as the Cougars won a non-conference game Wednesday at Auburn-Montgomery and split a home Peach Belt Conference doubleheader with Flagler College Saturday. CSU (25-11, 6-2) travels to University of West Alabama Wednesday and plays at Young Harris College Saturday.
HANNAH TODD — Kansas University (So., P, Cartersville HS)… picked up her second pitching win of the year Saturday with four innings of relief work in a home 9-8 Big 12 Conference win over Baylor. Todd allowed only one hit, one walk, and one hit batsman in four shutout innings. She fanned three. The Jayhawks (13-21, 2-1) won two of three with Baylor and now hit the road for a non-conference game at Tulsa Wednesday followed by a three-game conference series at Oklahoma State this weekend.
TAYLOR WAITS — Brewton-Parker College (Jr., OF, Cartersville HS)… had a hit in her only pinch-hitting plate appearance of the week last Friday at William Carey (MS) where the Barons lost all four games of a Southern States Athletic Conference series. BPC (8-24, 4-14) plays at Fort Valley State Wednesday and travels to Stillman College (AL) for a four-game series this weekend.
ANNALYN YANTIS — Samford University (Sr., P, Cartersville HS)… tossed a complete game allowing only two earned runs scattering six hits and five walks Saturday in the Bulldogs’ 7-2 home victory over Furman. Yantis struck out six. She then started Sunday’s game and was tagged with the loss after giving up four earned runs on five hits and two walks in the first two innings of an eventual 6-4 loss. Samford (15-23, 4-2) won two of three with Furman over the weekend and now hosts Belmont Wednesday in a non-conference game before traveling to Western Carolina for a three-game Southern Conference set Saturday and Sunday.
ELLIOTT ANDERSON — Auburn University (Jr., LHP, Cartersville HS)… worked two total innings of relief last weekend as the Tigers won two of three conference games at South Carolina. Anderson entered with two outs in the seventh inning and completed the eighth inning of Friday’s 4-2 win. He induced three ground outs and a fly out with one walk facing five batters. On Saturday, he allowed two unearned runs and walked three batters in the sixth inning of a 4-0 loss to the Gamecocks. 15th-ranked Auburn (22-6, 6-3 SEC) hosts Georgia Tech Tuesday night and Arkansas Thursday through Saturday in a three-game conference series.
BAILEY CAMPBELL — Young Harris College (So., 1B/DH, Cass HS)… coming off a recent hand injury, Campbell struggled at the plate last week. He was 0-for-11 with one walk. He was twice hit by a pitch and had one RBI. After peaking at .411, his season batting average has dipped recently to .315 with a pair of home runs and 23 RBI. The Mountain Lions (22-11, 10-6 Peach Belt Conference) beat Georgia Southwestern two of three conference games last weekend. They play at Emmanuel College Wednesday night before hosting PBC leading North Georgia in a three-game series Friday through Sunday.
CARRINGTON EVANS — Augusta University (R-So., OF, Cartersville HS)… was inserted in the lineup to play left field Sunday and had a two RBI double in a pair of plate appearances during an 8-6 home loss to Lander University. He was also 1-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored last Tuesday in a start at Newberry lost by the Jaguars, 10-9. In a busy week, Augusta won two of five games. The Jags (16-18, 5-16 Peach Belt Conference) play at Valdosta State Tuesday in a non-conference game prior to hosting a three-game league series with USC-Aiken Friday through Sunday.
LANE GRIFFITH — University of West Georgia (Jr., C, Adairsville HS)… went 4-for-10 in a three-game Gulf South Conference sweep of visiting Lee University over the weekend. Griffith hit his second home run of the year in Friday’s 7-5 win. He had two hits including a double and two RBI Saturday in a 14-10 win and added one hit plus a sac fly RBI in an 11-3 win on Sunday. West Georgia (16-17, 11-9 GSC) hosts Paine College Wednesday and travels to Miles College Thursday in a pair of non-conference games this week.
KENNY JINKS — Shorter University (Fr., LHP, Woodland HS)… entered in the fifth inning Sunday and retired seven outs in the Hawks 11-4 loss at University of West Florida in Pensacola. Jinks allowed four runs (only two earned) on three hits, one walk, and one hit batsman. He struck out three. The southpaw has a 5.40 ERA in six appearances and just over eight innings pitched this season. Shorter picked up one win in three games against the Argonauts and also lost a home, mid-week game with Emmanuel College last Tuesday. The Hawks (17-15, 10-10 Gulf South Conference) travel to non-conference Carson-Newman University Tuesday afternoon and will host a three-game conference series with Auburn-Montgomery Friday and Saturday.
HARRISON OSBORN — Point University (So., RHP, Cartersville HS)… made two no-decision appearances last week for the Skyhawks. He went six innings and allowed only one earned run on five hits and a walk last Tuesday in a 5-2 loss at Toccoa Falls College. He stuck out seven in the non-conference loss. In a relief appearance Saturday, Osborn went four and one-third innings yielding one unearned run on six hits and two walks during a 12-6 Appalachian Athletic Conference loss to NAIA 14th-ranked Bryan College. He fanned four. Point (24-13, 8-7) hosts Reinhardt University for a three-game AAC series Friday and Saturday.
MASON ROBINSON — Louisiana Tech (R-Sr., OF, Woodland HS)… was 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI Friday in the Bulldogs’ home win over UAB. He was hitless in Louisiana Tech’s other three games during the week — a home loss to UL-Monroe and two additional wins over Alabama-Birmingham. Robinson has a .330 batting average with three homers and 19 RBI in 27 starts this season. Louisiana Tech (17-10, 5-4 Conference USA) hosts McNeese State Wednesday night in a non-conference game and entertains UT-San Antonio this weekend in a three-game C-USA series.
TRISTIN SMITH — Young Harris College (R-Sr., Inf., Adairsville HS)… started all four games for the Mountain Lions last week and was 3-for-8 at the plate with a solo home run in Saturday’s second game win over Georgia Southwestern. He drew eight walks in the four games and scored six times as Young Harris won three of four. Smith is hitting .300 in 24 games and 90 at-bats this season with two home runs and 14 RBI. YHC (22-11, 10-6 Peach Belt Conference) plays at Emmanuel College Wednesday in a non-conference game and hosts PBC leader University of North Georgia this weekend in a three-game series.
TYLER WASHINGTON — Young Harris College (Sr., OF, Adairsville HS)… went 8-for-18 with three doubles, a home run, and a pair of walks at the plate as the Mountain Lions went 3-1 for the week. The home run was a first inning grand slam Saturday in an eventual 20-3 home win Saturday over Georgia Southwestern. With the productive week, Washington raised his season batting average to .317 with eight RBI in 60 at-bats. Young Harris (22-11, 10-6 Peach Belt Conference) steps out of conference Wednesday night at Emmanuel College and will host conference-leading University of North Georgia Friday through Sunday in a three-game set.
ELIJAH ROBINSON -- Villa San Martin (Argentine League, Excel Christian Academy) ... Robinson had one great game and one subpar performance, as Villa San Martin went 0-2 for the week. He had eight points, two rebounds and two steals in a 95-77 loss on Wednesday to San Isidro. Robinson bounced back Friday with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting and eight rebounds, but his team still came up short in a 77-72 defeat to Tiro Federal.
ASHTON HAGANS -- University of Kentucky (Fr., Cartersville native) — Hagans saw his freshman season end in disappointment with a 77-71 overtime loss to Auburn in the NCAA Tournament's Midwest Regional final on Sunday in Kansas City, Missouri. The Cartersville native scored 10 points, including five of the Wildcats' 11 overtime points, but it wasn't enough to punch a ticket to the Final Four. Hagans had five rebounds and three assists but also was forced into seven turnovers. He finished with just four points and three rebounds in the Sweet 16 against Houston on Friday. However, Hagans sank a pair of key free throws to give Kentucky a one-point lead with 2:08 to go in a 62-58 win.
PEYTON GOLLHOFER -- Ball State (Sr., Cartersville native) ... Gollhofer finished off the week with a 3-1 record, including a 2-0 mark in singles action. She produced a 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 victory on Line 3 singles in Friday's match against Miami-Ohio. However, Gollhofer and Isabelle Dohanics fell 6-3 on Line 3, as the Redhawks won the doubles point to help secure a 4-3 win. On Sunday, Gollhofer won on Line 2 singles 6-2, 7-5 and paired with Dohanics on Line 3 for an easy 6-0 triumph. Ball State won the match by a 5-2 score over Bowling Green to improve to 13-4 on the year and 2-2 in the Mid-American Conference.

Trevor Knowles TREVOR KNOWLES -- Albion College (So., Woodland HS) ... Knowles wound up fourth in the high jump and 10th in the triple jump during the Augustana Viking Olympics on Saturday in Rock Island, Illinois.
