Region football standings for local schools.

Adairsville (2-1) won for the second straight week with a dominating first half performance over visiting Model. The Tigers led 28-0 in the first half on their way to a 49-14 non-region win. The Tigers travel to Ringgold (1-2) this Friday.

Cartersville (3-0) routed Calhoun for the second straight year. Trevor Lawrence was 13-of-20 passing for 317 yards and four touchdowns. Rico Frye rushed for 61 yards and scored three touchdowns including one on a 59-yard screen pass. The Canes play Friday at Westlake (1-1).

Woodland (1-1) ended the state's second-longest losing streak Friday with a 31-30 overtime win over visiting Rockmart (1-2). Tied 23-23 at the end of regulation, Rockmart scored and kicked its PAT to lead 30-23 on its first possession of the overtime, but Woodland scored and converted a two-point conversion pass to pick up the win. It was the Wildcats' first win since September 25, 2015 and ended a 17-game skid. Woodland travels to Region 7AAAAA and county rival Cass this week.

Cass led 13-0 at halftime and outgained Sonoraville in the game 236-77, but lost 14-13 to fall to 0-2 on the season. Sonoraville scored on a short drive after a blocked punt and on a 40-yard fumble return for a touchdown. The Colonels host Woodland this Friday.
