Adairsville falls to top-ranked Calhoun


The Adairsville High School softball team lost their Region 6-AAA matchup with Class AAA top-ranked Calhoun Wednesday night in Tiger Valley, 13-0. The visiting Yellow Jackets finished off the contest in five innings due to the GHSA run-rule. Calhoun (12-5, 5-0) scored in every offensive frame posting two runs in the first inning, four more in the second and third innings, one more in the fourth and two in the fifth innings. Adairsville remains in playoff contention in the region. The Lady Tigers are currently fourth in the standings with a 6-10 overall record and 3-2 in the league. The Lady Tigers play another team ahead of them in the standings Thursday at home when they host the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors.
