Canes' soccer falls in second round
May 4, 2026 The Cartersville boys’ soccer team lost 5-0 on Friday at Walnut Grove and was eliminated from the GHSA Class 4A state tournament. The host Warriors led 2-0 at the intermission and finished off the contest with three second-half goals. Walnut Grove (17-3) advanced to the state quarterfinals on Tuesday against Clarkston. The Canes’ season ended with an 11-8 record.
