Soccer Lady 'Canes advance to state quarterfinals

The Cartersville Lady 'Canes soccer team shutout another state tournament opponent

Tuesday night to advance to the 2015 Elite Eight quarterfinals of GHSA Class AAAA. Cartersville (11-5) stopped the visiting Upson-Lee Lady Knights 4-0 at Weinman Stadium. Chloe Davis, Aubree Smith, Marissa Mowry, and Peyton Putzer scored the Lady 'Canes goals vs. Upson-Lee. The Lady 'Canes are guaranteed to host the next round of the state playoffs Friday, May 8. They will face Whitewater, a 4-1 winner Tuesday over Walnut Grove.
