Team Georgia with local players wins twice Saturday at Sunbelt Classic

Lane Griffith of Adairsville High School and Elliott Anderson of Cartersville High School are in Oklahoma with the Georgia Dugout Club’s 2015 Junior Team Georgia. The team is participating in the 21st annual Sunbelt Classic Baseball Series.

The tournament began Friday and continues through next Wednesday (June 10) in McAlester, Oklahoma and at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. Former Cass High School head coach, Todd Eubanks, is part of the Team Georgia coaching staff with the Georgia Dugout Club. He is currently the head baseball coach at Bowdon High School. On Saturday, Team Georgia swept a pair of games, defeating Team Missouri 7-5 and winning their late game over Team Mississippi. Team Georgia is scheduled to play Team Colorado Sunday. Details of Saturday and Sunday games will be shared as they become available.

Junior Team Georgia defeated Team Canada 9-8 in their second game of the day Friday, but dropped their opener to Team Tennessee, 16-3.
