Cartersville LL 8U advances to semifinals

Cartersville Little League’s 8-and-under Rookie Level team has advanced to the Northwest Sectional semifinals tonight (June 9) in Smyrna.

Cartersville defeated Belvedere Little League 10-2 Sunday to sweep their two pool games and earn a top seed headed into the semifinals.

Cartersville opened the tournament Saturday with a 17-13 victory over Smyrna Little League Blue.

Cartersville will face Rockmart Little League tonight (June 9) at 6pm in one of the single-elimination semifinal games. Murphey Candler Blue and Smyrna Blue square off in the other semifinal.

Tuesday’s winners play for the tournament championship Wednesday at 7pm.

All games in the Georgia Little League Northwest Sectional tournament are being played at Smyrna Little League.

The Cartersville roster includes: Jordan Brinkley, Maddox Frazier, Casen Cochran, Cameron Cochran, Logan Shrewsbury, Logan Woody, JeKeveon Porter. Tristan Mckibben, Thomas Peters, Sawyer Wilson, and Julian Cline.

Cartersville’s manager is Robin Mckibben and the assisting coaches are Luke Bunce, Geoffe Shrewsbury, and Jay Frazier.
