Cartersville LL 8U advances to Georgia NW Sectional title game

Cartersville Little League’s 8-and-under Rookie Level team has advanced to the Northwest Sectional championship game tonight (June 10) in Smyrna. Cartersville scored four times in the top of the first and never looked back as they cruised past Rockmart Little League, 22-6. Cartersville erupted for 13 hits and took advantage of five errors and ten walks. Tristan Mckibben had three hits, three RBI, and scored three times to lead the Cartersville offense. Casen Cochran, Logan Shrewsbury (3 RBI), and Thomas Peters (3 RBI) had a pair of hits each. JeKeveon Porter, Cameron Cochran (3 RBI), Logan Woody (RBI), and Maddox Frazier (RBI) each added a hit. Cartersville used six different pitchers in the one-side victory. Porter, Cameron Cochran, Casen Cochran, Mckibben, Peters, and Frazier all saw time on the mound against Rockmart.

Cartersville plays the host team, Smyrna Little League, for the tournament championship Wednesday at 7pm.

All games in the Georgia Little League Northwest Sectional tournament are being played at Hawkins Field at Smyrna Little League.

The Cartersville roster includes: Jordan Brinkley, Maddox Frazier, Casen Cochran, Cameron Cochran, Logan Shrewsbury, Logan Woody, JeKeveon Porter. Tristan Mckibben, Thomas Peters, Sawyer Wilson, and Julian Cline.

Cartersville’s manager is Robin Mckibben and the assisting coaches are Luke Bunce, Geoffe Shrewsbury, and Jay Frazier.
