Bartow 7U and 8U baseball teams advance

The Bartow County 6-, 7-, and 8-year old all-star baseball teams are competing in the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association Invitational this weekend (June 12-14) at Gordon County Parks and Recreation. Each of the tournaments are double-elimination and serve as a warm-up tournament for the Bartow teams as they prepare for the Dizzy Dean Baseball District Tournaments the following weekend.

The 7U and 8U Bartow teams won their tournament openers Friday night. The 6U team opens tournament play Saturday.

The 7U team defeated Bremen 16-10 Friday night and advanced to play Calhoun Saturday morning. The 8U team knocked off Gordon County 9-6 and also advanced to play Calhoun Saturday morning.
