Cartersville LL 10U teams wrap up pool play, now face off for district crown


Cartersville Purple 10U used a 10-hit attack and two big innings to finish pool play at the District 1 Little League tournament with a 14-4 four-inning win over league-mates, Cartersville Gold 10U. The game wrapped up pool play for both teams. Since they finished first and second in the preliminary round, they now square off in a best-of-three series to determine the District 1 Little League championship. Both teams utilized a trio of pitchers to complete the contest. Brice Craig (2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K), Will Litton (1.1 IP, 2 ER, 6 BB, 1 K), and Drake Carver (0.2 IP, 0 R, 1 BB, 1K) combined efforts on the mound for Cartersville Purple in the victory. Jordan Hall (2 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 1 K), Collin Genrich (1.1 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 1 K), and Joshua Clay (0.1 IP, 1 BB, 1 K) completed the pitching duties for Cartersville Gold.


Issac McNair-Seigler, Avery Higgins, and Nicholas Kennedy had two hits each for Cartersville Purple. Craig (triple), Trip Bradley (double), Thomas Norris, and Paul Gamble (double) had the other Purple hits. Clay and Hall had the only two Cartersville Gold hits.


Cartersville Purple and Cartersville Gold begin the best-of-three district championship series Tuesday night (June 30) at Rudy York Field at 7pm.
