Adairsville, Excel post softball wins Tuesday

EXCEL CHRISTIAN 12, KING’S RIDGE 5

Excel scored twice in the second and added three more in the third to take an early 5-0 lead on the Lady Eagles' way to a 12-5 victory over King’s Ridge Tuesday night. Taylor Gibson opened in the circle and provided five strong innings of pitching before giving way to Haley Owens to close out the game. The Lady Eagles received key offensive production from Gibson, Tessa Thornbrough, Whitney Harris, Aliza Baker, Rachel Parrott, Brighton McCollum, and a homer from Kalli Beth Scheff. ECA hosts Heritage Christian Thursday and will conclude regular season play Friday at home against North Cobb Christian.
