Cartersville volleyball advances

The Cartersville Lady Canes volleyball team won a hard fought match Thursday night over Ridgeland, 2-1, to advance in the Region 7AAAA playoffs.

The Lady Panthers took the opening set 25-22, but Cartersville rallied to win sets two and three 25-23 and 27-25.

Cartersville advances to play again Saturday at Northwest Whitfield High School with an opportunity to win their way into the Class AAAA state playoffs.
