Hurricanes continue perfect run; advance to title game vs. Buford

The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes scored on each of their first three possessions and the defense remained a force as the Canes improved to 14-0 in a state semifinal win over the visiting Bearcats.
Trevor Lawrence passed for over 200 yards and three touchdowns, Miller Forristall caught a pair of touchdowns, Tiamon Pennymon ran for a score, and Kobie Whitfield picked off a pair of passes and returned a punt for a score to lead the Canes.

BUFORD 35, WOODWARD ACADEMY 18
Martin Mangram scored three rushing touchdowns after halftime to lead the defending Class AAAA champion Wolves past No. 3 Woodward Academy 35-18 Friday night. Buford, making its ninth straight state title game, trailed Woodward 18-7 at one point. Buford is now 13-1. Woodward finished 13-1.
