Other top performers for Cass included Tyler Pilcher who went 4-1 for the day. Cody Mauldin was 2-2 in the role of splitting time between the 132-pound and 138-pound weight divisions to fill a gap in the lineup. Trevor Huskins also finished 4-1 for the Colonels and Triston Purvine completed the day 2-1.

"It's the holiday break and just another chance to get in some work," said Cass head coach D. L. Koontz.

"Some of the teams were dealing with some sickness, but overall we wrestled well and took advantage of the opportunity to get some wrestling in," stated Koontz.

The Colonels will be back in action Monday and Tuesday (Dec. 28-29) at Archer High School to compete in the Takedown Sportswear Invitational.

"That is a quality event," Koontz added. "It's an opportunity to compete against some of the top wrestlers from other states and most of the top competitors from all classes and divisions across Georgia will be there."
