North Murray's seventh bests Tigers

The Adairsville and North Murray baseball teams went six scoreless innings Tuesday night, but the visiting Mountaineers’ five-run seventh was the difference in a 5-2 Region 6-AAA defeat of the Tigers.

North Murray’s Waylyn James (7 IP, 1ER, 4H, 2BB, 5K) picked up a complete-game win on the mound for the Mountaineers.

Kyler Pelfrey (6 IP, 0R, 5H, 2BB, 10K) had a solid performance on the mound for Adairsville, but left with a no decision. Noah O’Kelley was saddled with the pitching loss, working the final frame.

Blake Davis had two hits and two RBI to lead North Murray. James also had two hits.

Landon Howren, Lane Griffith, Hayden Morrow, and O’Kelley had the Tigers’ hits — all singles.

Adairsville (4-4 overall, 1-1 Region 6-AAA) hosts Coahulla Creek Thursday and travels to Sonoraville Friday. Both region games are scheduled for 5:55pm starts.
