Lady Tigers hold off Calhoun, remain atop region


The Adairsville girls soccer team defeated Calhoun Tuesday night, 2-1, to remain unbeaten on the 2016 campaign.


The Lady Tigers got two goals from Kaitlyn Webster. Haley Pittman assisted the first goal in the 20th minute. The ultimate game-winner came unassisted in the 45th minute to give Adairsville a 2-0 lead just after halftime.


Calhoun scored in the 63rd minute, but the Lady Tigers’ defense and keeper Havyn Isaac made the plays down the stretch to hold on for the important region win.


Adairsville (10-0 overall, 4-0 Region 6-AAA) plays Gordon Central March 29
