Soccer Lady Cats blank Coosa


The Woodland girls soccer team blanked Coosa in a non-region match Friday night, 10-0. The game was shortened by mercy rule with just over 26 minutes remaining.


The Lady Cats led 8-0 at halftime.


Madison Bennett and Sam Simmons scored two goals each for Woodland. Allie Moates, Molly Plott, MacKenzie Lanham, Jordan Evans, Keri Cagle, and Kylie Knox also scored goals.


Lindsay Scifers and Simmons contributed a pair of assists each. Kaitlin Winnenberg also had an assist.


Esmeralda Hernandez and Amy Moreno shared the victory in goal for the Lady ' Cats.


Woodland (5-6) hosts Creekview Tuesday (March 29) and Cartersville Friday (April 1).



The Woodland boys soccer game at Coosa has been rescheduled for April 14.




ROME 12, CASS LADY COLONELS 2


Cass girls soccer team lost 12-2 at Rome Thursday night.


Rome improved to 10-2-1 overall and 4-2 in sub-region 7-AAAAA-A.


The Lady Colonels (3-8-1, 0-5 in 7-AAAAA-A) host North Springs Friday.


SONORAVILLE 5, ADAIRSVILLE TIGERS 1


The Sonoraville boys improved to 8-1 with their Region 6-AAA win over Adairsville Thursday.


Adairsville (5-4) plays at North Murray Thursday, March 31.
