Lady Tigers, Tigers sweep Murray County tennis


The Adairsville High School tennis teams both edged Murray County Friday night, 3-2, to wrap up their Region 6-AAA regular seasons.


Both teams will compete next at the region tournament in Calhoun on April 12.


ADAIRSVILLE GIRLS 3, MURRAY CO. 2


SINGLES

1— Kylee McCauley lost 1-6, 3-6

2 — Abby Asbridge won 6-0, 6-0

3 — Hannah Adcock won 6-1, 6-2


DOUBLES

1 — Cali Mealer/Makenzie Davis lost 3-6, 6-4, 2-6

2 — Brantley Hughes/Olivia Long won 6-1, 6-4


The Lady Tigers finished the regular season as the No. 2 seed in Region 6-AAA. They will play next in the region tournament at Calhoun on April 12 against an opponent yet to be determined.

SINGLES

1 — Houston Medlock won 6-4, 6-1

2 — Chase Powell lost 2-6, 4-6

3 — Cody Kimbrough won 6-1, 6-1


DOUBLES

1 — Dylan Coker/Austin Cobb won 6-2, 4-6, 7-5

2 — Jack Bates/Landon Swanson lost 2-6, 0-6


The Tigers finished 4-4 in the Region 6-AAA regular season and will be the No. 5 seed heading into the region tournament in Calhoun on Tuesday, April 12. Adairsville will play Coahulla Creek in the opening round.
