Lady Cats blank Sonoraville


The Woodland girls soccer team defeated visiting Sonoraville Tuesday night, 3-0, in a non-region match.


Keri Cagle put a corner kick over the goalkeeper in the 8th minute to strike first for the Lady Cats and provide the only scoring in the first half.


In the second half, Kaitlin Winnenberg found the goal off an assist from Cagle with just under 17 minutes remaining to put Woodland up, 2-0.


Freshman Jordan Evans hit sophomore Allie Moates with a pass from outside midfield and Moates took it in for a goal with 11:07 remaining to provide the game’s final score.


Woodland (7-7) hosts North Springs Tuesday, April 12 in a 7pm start.




SONORAVILLE BOYS 4, WILDCATS 1


Woodland led Sonoraville 1-0 at halftime, but the visiting Phoenix scored 35 seconds into the second half and added goals in the 67th, 75th, and 87th minutes.


Drew Barrere scored the Woodland goal with an assist by Diony Ochoa.


Woodland (0-12) is scheduled ot play at Coosa April 14.
