Tigers drop region game at Coahulla Creek

Coahulla Creek jumped to a 5-0 lead in the first inning Friday night at home against Adairsville on their way to a 7-1 Region 6-AAA win over the Tigers.

The Colts’ Will Douglas tossed a complete game, scattering six hits and a walk for the Coahulla Creek pitching victory. He struck out four.

The top three hitters in the Colts’ lineup, Joseph Schwartz, Ethan Whaley, and Hayden Lock combined for seven hits and three RBI as Coahulla Creek out hit Adairsville, 13-6.

Kyler Pelfrey (2.2 IP, 7R, 5ER, 10H, 3K) started on the bump for the Tigers and suffered the pitching defeat. Orry Carter (3.1 IP, 0R, 3H, 1BB, 2K) also pitched.

Landon Howren, Sam Seaman, Hayden Morrow, Drake Arp, Hunter Hice, and Pelfrey had one hit each for Adairsville.

The Tigers’ only run came in the top of the third to narrow their deficit to 5-1, but the Colts (11-9 overall, 5-5 in 6-AAA) answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning. Neither team scored over the final four innings.
