13U 9 Stars Saints win Grand Slam World Series of Baseball in Panama City
The 13U 9 Stars Saints captured the Grand Slam Baseball World Series Saturday in Panama City, FL.
The Saints were undefeated (6-0) in the tournament and concluded their 2016 season with a 48-13-1 overall record that included seven tournament championships on the year.
9 Stars had World Series victories over the Port Allen Titans, 5-2, and the Mountain View Bears Gold, 6-2, in pool play to enter the championship bracket with a first round bye and the number one seed.
In the double-elimination bracket, the Saints blanked the Panama City Beach Bashers, 10-0, and edged Nelson Baseball School 13U, 2-1, to reach the semifinals.
9 Stars reached the finals with an 11-6 win over LBA Naturals 13U Blue and defeated Halo-Black, 8-7, in the championship game.
