Lady Tigers double up Haralson County for region win


The Adairsville Lady Tigers’ softball team earned a valuable, region victory at home Tuesday over Haralson County, 10-5.


Haralson County took an early 1-0 lead, but Adairsville posted six runs in the second inning to take the lead for good.


Loren Harris had a single and a double in the inning as the Lady Tigers batted around. Cortni Jacobs had a triple in the inning and Emily Collum added a double. There were also a pair of errors and a pair of walks.


The Lady Tigers added to their league with four more runs in the fourth inning.


Havyn Isaac had a key RBI double in the frame and Adairsville also took advantage of two more errors and a RBI groundout.


Trailing 10-1, the Lady Rebels narrowed the margin to 10-5 with runs in the fifth and sixth frames.


Harris scattered five hits and three walks to earn the win on the rubber for the Lady Tigers. She struck out eight.


Harris was productive at the plate as well. She had two hits that included a double, scored a run and added three RBIs. Natalie Burrow (2 RBI), Emily Collum (double, RBI), Isaac (RBI), and Cortni Jacobs (triple, RBI) had the other hits for Adairsville.


The Lady Tigers (6-5) return to action Tuesday at Calhoun.
