Cartersville volleyball defeats North Paulding, Rockmart

Cartersville volleyball defeated North Paulding in a tough three set battle and swept Rockmart in straight sets on their way to a pair of wins Thursday night.
Against North Paulding, Cartersville won the opening set 25-20, but dropped the middle set by the same score. In set three, the Lady Canes won 25-19.
Jayla Delgado had nine digs and one assist; Lauren Wenzell contributed two kills, three digs, and eight aces; Rebekah Stevens had four kills; Catie Heilman added five kills, a dig, and an ace; Addie Smith had three digs; Anna Mathis added seven digs; Grace Hunter had a pair of kills and five aces; and Kameron Hendrix added 14 assists and four digs.

The Lady Canes swept Rockmart 25-21 and 25-14. Leaders in the match for Cartersville included Nedu Evans with four kills; Elsa Evans with two kills and three blocks; Catie Heilman with four kills; Lauren Wenzell with four kills, two digs, and an ace; Grace Hunter with three kills and four aces; Anna Mathis with eight digs; and Kameron Hendrix with 17 assists.
The Lady Canes play in the Darlington Tournament Saturday, before hosting Troup County and Chapel Hill Tuesday at the Storm Center.
