Cartersville softball

Cio Seigler doubled home the game winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning and Hannah Todd struck out ten while tossing a complete game, three-hitter as Cartersville won the first game of Saturday’s Region 5-AAAA playoff doubleheader in Atco, 2-1.

In the second game, the Lady Grangers were down to their final strike with two outs, but rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh for a walkoff 5-4, come-from-behind win to force a deciding game Monday in the three-game series at 5pm.

LaGrange got two of their five hits of the second game in the decisive final inning, but took advantage of two Lady Canes’ errors to score their three runs for a 5-4 final score.

Todd (6.2 IP, 5R, 1ER, 5H, 1BB, 5K) suffered the hard luck pitching loss.

The Lady Canes out hit LaGrange eleven to five in the loss.
