Cass Middle School basketball teams capture BGMSAA titles

The Cass Middle School basketball teams made a clean sweep of the 2016-17 Bartow-Gordon Middle School Athletic Association championships Saturday with tournament titles.

The Cass girls defeated Red Bud 42-34 and the Cass boys downed Cartersville, 49-36.

The Cass girls finished the season with a 14-3 mark. The Cass boys finished the year with a 16-1 record.

The Calhoun Middle School junior varsity teams won the two JV championships.

Calhoun (14-1) won the JV girls title over Cartersville, 37-28. The JV Lady Canes finished the year with a 13-2 record. The Calhoun JV boys (13-2) defeated Cartersville (13-2) in that final, 41-35.
