Canes, Lady Canes region basketball tournament schedule
The Cartersville Lady Canes and Purple Hurricanes play in the Region 5AAAA Championship Tournament this week at a variety of sites.
The Lady Canes travel to LaGrange Tuesday evening for a matchup with 4-seed Troup County. The Cartersville girls are the 5-seed going into the tournament, but the winner of their game with the Lady Tigers will reach the region semifinals and will be guaranteed a trip to the Class AAAA state playoffs.
The Hurricanes are in a similar situation as the region tournament begins. The Cartersville boys are the 3-seed and will host a pair of boys games Wednesday night. Troup and Cedartown will face off in the early game. The Canes will play the winner of Monday night's game between Chapel Hill and Central-Carrollton.
