Adairsville lets early lead get away at Ringgold

Ringgold scored six runs across their final three frames for a come-from-behind 8-5 home win over the Adairsville Tigers Friday night.
Adairsville led 2-1 after two innings and 4-2 through three innings, but Ringgold’s offense took over in the latter innings.
Tyler Nichols was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Ringgold attack.
Tanner Black (2.2 IP, 0R, 2H, 2BB, 6K) — one of four pitchers utilized by Ringgold — picked up the win in relief of starter Rhett Baldwin (3 IP, 4ER, 5H, 3BB, 1K).
Halen Huskins drove in two runs for Adairsville with a pair of hits. Garrett Mishoe hit a two-run homer in the second inning. Hunter Hice had two hits, including a double. Taylor Whitley doubled for Adairsville’s other hit.
Adairsville’s Caden Gibbs (4 IP, 4ER, 6H, 2BB, 3K) started on the mound. Chase Powell (1 IP, 3R, 2ER, 2H, 1BB) suffered the loss in relief in the fifth inning. Taylor Whitley (1 IP, 1R, 0ER, 0H, 1BB) worked the sixth inning on the mound.
Ringgold improved to 12-3 overall and remained unbeaten in Region 6AAA at 3-0.
Adairsville (3-8, 0-2) plays at Coahulla Creek Saturday at 4pm and will host Haralson County on Tuesday at 5:55pm.
