Woodland suffers shutout
East Paulding pitcher Will Prater limited Woodland to only three hits and three walks Friday evening in a 6-0 Region 7AAAAA shutout at Woodland.
Prater struck out ten Wildcats as the Raiders moved to 6-10 overall and 2-2 in region games.
East Paulding scored five runs over the first three innings and added one more in the fifth.
Sean Cheely (RBI, double) and Jody Waddell had two hits each for the Raiders to lead their offense.
Garrett Cornett, Emmanuel Jones, and Jordan Lee had the Woodland base hits.
Grayson Bagwell (1.1 IP, 4ER, 4H, 2BB, 2K) was the Woodland starter on the mound and took the loss. Cauy Williams (5.2 IP, 2R, 1ER, 5H, 2BB, 6K) finished the game on the bump for the Wildcats.
Woodland (9-7, 0-4) hosts Rome Monday and will travel to the Wolves’ home field on Wednesday.
