Lady Tigers edged late at Central-Carrollton


The Class AAA 10th-ranked Adairsville girls soccer team fell 3-2 Tuesday night in a non-region game at Class AAAA Central-Carrollton.


Central-Carrollton scored in the 12th minute to lead 1-0 at halftime, but Adairsville evened the score early in the second half.


Emily Collum scored for the Lady Tigers in the 48th minute off a feed from mid-fielder Lauren Stephenson. Adairsville then took a 2-1 lead in the 63rd minute on a goal by Chloe Cochran. Collum was credited with an assist.


The Lady Lions tied the game on a breakaway goal with about 10 minutes remaining and scored the game-winner with just under one minute remaining.


Central-Carrollton improved to 7-6 with their win.


Adairsville (9-3, 5-2 Region 6AAA) faces East Paulding Thursday in another non-region game.
