Adairsville falls to 2nd-ranked Tigers
The Adairsville baseball team battled back from a three-run deficit Tuesday night, but ultimately succumbed to the visiting Class AAA 2nd-ranked Ringgold Tigers, 7-3.
Ringgold’s Nathan Camp tossed a three-hitter and did not allow an earned run. He walked three and fanned nine for the pitching win.
Ringgold scored three runs in the top of the first, but Adairsville tied the game with three runs in the fourth. The visitors took control with a three-run fifth inning and added an insurance run in the top of the seventh.
Sam Seaman, Hunter Hice, and Noah Dutton had the Adairsville hits. Garrett Mishoe and Caden Gibbs drove in runs.
Ringgold improved to 18-4 overall and 9-1 in Region 6AAA.
Adairsville (8-13, 3-7) is scheduled to play at North Murray Thursday and will host Coahulla Creek Friday. Both games are 5:55pm starts.
