Carrollton rallies past Woodland


Region leading Carrollton scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth Friday night to come-from-behind for a 5-4 win over visiting Woodland.


The Trojans trailed Woodland 3-0 through three innings and trailed 4-2 heading to the bottom of the sixth.


The sixth frame rally occurred after two outs had been recorded. A walk, two doubles, and a single led to Carrollton’s three-run rally.


Garrett Cornett (photo) and Hunter Reaid had two hits each for Woodland. Cauy Williams had one hit. Jacob Frye had one RBI.

Grayson Bagwell (0.1 IP, 1ER, 2H, 0BB) was tagged with the pitching loss in relief of starter Kenny Jinks (5.2 IP, 4R, 2ER, 4H, 3BB, 1K).


The Trojans improved to 24-3 overall and 13-0 in Region 7AAAA.


Woodland (16-10, 6-7) hosts Carrollton Monday and closes with two games against Hiram. The Wildcats play at Hiram Wednesday and will host the Hornets Friday.
