Cartersville tennis teams advance in state tourney

The Cartersville High School tennis teams both won their first round matches Monday in the Class AAAA state playoffs at Dellinger Park.

The Hurricanes defeated Chestatee 4-0. The Lady Canes, also playing Chestatee, won 4-1.

Both teams advance to the Round of 16 in Class AAAA and both will face either Cairo or Burke County in the next round.
