Cartersville ranked 7th in final regular season poll

The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes of coach Stuart Chester are ranked seventh in the final regular season Class AAAA poll released by the Georgia Dugout Preview Magazine.

Cartersville enters the Class AAAA state playoffs Friday with a doubleheader at top-ranked Blessed Trinity in Roswell.

The two teams will play a best-of-three series. If neither team sweeps the doubleheader on Friday, a rubber game will be played Saturday -- also in Roswell.

All four teams from Region 5-AAAA that made the state playoffs -- Troup, LaGrange, Cedartown, and Cartersville -- are ranked in the Top 10.
