Cartersville Little League 8/9-year-old team plays in Sandlot State Tournament this weekend


Cartersville Little League’s 8/9-year-old Sandlot Baseball team will be one of three teams to open play at the Sandlot State Tournament in Warner Robins Saturday.


The 7/8-year-old Rookie Level State Tournament and the Sandlot Level Tournament are both being hosted by Warner Robins American Little League and the Southeast Regional Complex in Warner Robins.



The draw for round-robin play will take place Saturday morning, but the Rookie Level State Tournament will include Northeast Section champion Oconee County, Northwest Section champion Smyrna Blue, and South Section champion Warner Robins American East.


The draw for round-robin play for the Sandlot Level State Tournament will also take place Saturday morning for Northeast Section champion Martinez-Evans, Northwest Section champion Cartersville, and South Section champion Warner Robins American West.


The three round-robin games for each level will be held Saturday at 10 am, 12:30 pm, and 3 pm. The top two teams from round-robin play will play a single-elimination championship game on Sunday at 2:30 pm.

Logan Buchanan, Will Camp, JP Gooch, Bear McWhorter, Asa Mitcham, Cohen Payne, Peyton Emery, Sydney Seigler, Harris Turner, Griffin Woodall, and Kamdyn Woods.
