Adairsville softball sweeps Armuchee
Adairsville softball swept a doubleheader Monday with visiting Armuchee 9-8 and 12-6 in a pair of non-region games.
In the opener, Sadye Johnson hit solo homers in the fourth and sixth innings and Havyn Isaac hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning to help lead the Tigers.
Alexa Varner and Natalie Burrow both had two hits and one RBI each in the 9-8 win.
Loren Harris (7 IP, 8R, 4ER, 9H, 1BB, 7K) was the pitching winner for Adairsville in the first game.
In Game 2, Harris was 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Burrow was 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Sierra Tanner and Johnson (RBI) had two hits each.
Victoria O’Neal (7 IP, 6R, 1ER, 5H, 6BB, 6K) picked up the pitching victory.
Armuchee is now 5-5 following the two losses.
Adairsville (7-3) plays at Haralson County Tuesday at 5:30 pm, hosts Ringgold Wednesday at 5:30 pm, entertains Sonoraville Thursday at 5:30 pm, and will face Woodland Friday at 5 pm at Stars Complex in the first round of the Komatsu Bartow County Championship Tournament.
