Cass volleyball splits region matches; Woodland also earns split

Cass volleyball split a pair of Region 7-AAAAA matches Tuesday evening at Woodland.
The Lady Colonels defeated the host Lady Cats 25-15, 25-16, but lost a close match to Villa Rica 25-20, 26-24.
“Keegan Krause and Alexis Ware had great offensive nights,” said Cass coach Chelsea Morris. “Kyler Trouten had a great night on defense with several blocks and digs.”
Cass (18-13, 2-4) plays at Adairsville Thursday in a non-region match and will also face Gordon Central.
In their second match, Woodland defeated Rome 28-26, 25-21 for a region victory.
Woodland hosts Haralson County and Calhoun Thursday at 5 p.m.
