Scott Hamilton among Golf Digest's Top Teachers

Golf Digest released its 50 best teachers in America this week and Scott Hamilton of Cartersville Country Club’s Scott Hamilton Golf Academy is in the top 30.


Hamilton, who is Director of Golf at Cartersville Country Club, works with some of the greatest players in the world and provides instruction for players on the PGA Tour, PGA Champions Tour, LPGA, and the web.com Tour. He has also worked with numerous collegiate and youth players at Cartersville Country Club.


Butch Harmon tops the 2017-18 list of top teachers and there is an emerging group of top teachers that utilize a variety of teaching styles and tools.


Hamilton, who began working at Cartersville Country Club as the head professional and instructor in 1993, has been featured in many golf publications such as Golf Digest, GolfWeek, Golf Magazine, Golf Channel, Wei Under Par, and GolfWRX.


In 2007, Scott was named the PGA of America Georgia Section Teacher of the Year, and in 2015, he was selected as the number two coach on the tour by PGA Players.

His self-described method of instruction includes the use of high-speed video cameras which ensures precise feedback that is both accurate and consistent from one swing to the next. With the help of this technology, Hamilton’s expertise allows him to improve each player’s ball position, pivot, plane, and hand action, resulting in a swing that is easily repeatable, especially under pressure.
