Adairsville, Cartersville wrestling teams compete at Hiram Thanksgiving Duals

Despite missing three starters from their normal starting lineup, the Adairsville Tigers wrestling team won four of five matches Saturday to place third at the Hiram Thanksgiving Duals.

The holiday weekend duals format tournament consisted of ten teams.

Led by Nic Jackson and Steven Lynch who went undefeated on the day, Adairsville recorded wins over Hiram, Cartersville, and Chattooga. Their only loss was to Veterans High School.

Cartersville’s Jonathon De La Cruz was undefeated on the day in five matches for the Canes. Fellow senior Conner Adams and junior Jabril Williams were 4-1 for Cartersville.

The Hurricanes were 2-3 in the tournament with wins over East Paulding and Newnan.

Adairsville wrestles next at Pepperell on Tuesday. Cartersville competes in the Chattooga Duals next Saturday.
