Tigers fall to Bremen at region tourney

The Adairsville Tigers hopes of advancing to the Class AAA state playoffs this season came to an end Wednesday night with a 37-32 loss to Bremen at the 6-AAA Tournament at Sonoraville High School.


Bremen (11-15) — the No. 4-seed from 6-AAA-South — advances to the region tournament semifinals to take on 6-AAA-North No. 1-seed Ringgold Friday night at 8:30 p.m.


Adairsville fell behind early Wednesday night, trailing 10-2 after one quarter and 19-10 at halftime. The Tigers rallied in the third quarter, however, to tie the game at 26-all going to the final eight minutes.


C. Crofton and Jason Houston led Bremen with 11 and six points, respectively.


Adairsville got eight points each from Mason Boswell and Ethan Belcher. Hunter Hice scored six, Savaun Henderson four, Cody Henderson three, Jessie O’Kelley two, and Grason Dailey one point.


Bremen was 0-for-3 from the free throw line in the first half, but converted 7-of-8 free throws in the final period to secure their win. Adairsville was 11-for-17 from the charity stripe.


The Tigers’ season ends with a 14-13 record.
